Flow Stress of Duplex Stainless Steel by Inverse Analysis with Dynamic Recovery and Recrystallization Model

To obtain the flow stress in duplex stainless steel, a model is proposed that applies rule of mixtures with relationship between volume fractions austenite and ferrite. The includes saturated ratio ? ferrite at various temperatures. It considers mechanical deformation microstructural evolution dynamic recrystallization (DRX) recovery (DRV) two phases during hot working. confirm validity new inverse analysis method, compression experiments were performed temperatures 1050, 1150, 1250°C strain rates 0.1, 1, 10 s?1 SUS329J4L, which an austenite-ferrite steel. According to curves, softening rate from peak was steeper decreasing temperature 1250 1050°C, corresponding estimated 33% (1250°C) 61% (1050°C). Microstructural heterogeneity DRX DRV observed 1050 1250°C, confirming clearly different restoration mechanism occurred phases.
